Welcome to the Web Site sponsored by the New York Criminal Bar Association. The New York Criminal Bar Association is a not-for-profit association organized to protect and preserve the rights of individuals accused of crimes and to serve as a unifying force for criminal defense lawyers in the New York City metropolitan area.

This site is designed primarily as a private online service for members of the New York Criminal Bar Association. It provides our members with access to an extraordinary collection of comprehensive resources for practicing criminal defense attorneys in the New York City metropolitan area.

For example, we have collected, and we update on a regular basis, hundreds of invaluable telephone and fax numbers that enable our members to contact judges, police precincts, arraignment clerks, correction officers and others who typically are so difficult to locate in the "system."

Members of the New York Criminal Bar Association also have free access to two web sites maintained by "Punch and Jurists", the acclaimed Internet resource for federal criminal law:

1) www.ussguide.com, a comprehensive collection of legal resources relating to the federal Sentencing Guidelines, including a special section on the Supreme Court’s recent decision in U.S. v. Booker which is updated daily and contains a Circuit-by-Circuit list of lower court decisions, as well as articles, memoranda and briefs, and

2) www.fedcrimlaw.com, which has a series of "search engines" for a database with more than 10,000 federal criminal cases, including the full text and detailed analyses of more than 1,000 Supreme Court cases.

Through the Punch and Jurists sites, members can also access (a) all the Second Circuit case summaries prepared by Richard Ware Levitt since 1988, plus the full text of those cases since 1995, and (b) Punch and Jurists' weekly newsletter, featuring the latest and most significant new cases in federal criminal law (available, at your option, by weekly email).

So, please join by printing out the membership application form and sending it with your dues payment of $100 to our Treasurer, Michael K.
